 The
Gerlitzen is located in south of Austria in Carinthia near Villach. Its well known for its
opportunities to fly no matter if you want hang gliding, paragliding
or model flying and it is independent of the direction of the wind. In August 1999 I was there for the first time and it
was really impressive. A lot of people hiking, flying and staring and
also it could be a problem to get a free channel. My model was a
DG-600 (2,7m) from Paul
Gerasis (a czech manufacturer) bought at Conrad Electronics in
Munich (Modellbau Lindinger sells it now). It costs just about 3000.- ATS
and is almost ready-to-fly with already covered wings. The Selig 3021 and its low mass of
1.8 kg eases thermal flying and guarantees much fun.
